In
the pursuit of our mission to
provide world class chauffeur
drive services, Optimum
Chauffeur Drive recognise that
in our day-to-day operations we
inevitably impact on the
environment in a number of ways.
As a consequence of this, the
management are committed to
continuous improvements in
environmental performance and
prevention of pollution wherever
and whenever possible.
Environmental regulations, laws
and codes of practice will be
regarded as setting the minimum
standards of environmental
performance.
Employee involvement in
environmental matters is
encouraged at all levels and is
promoted through a constant
reappraisal of working methods
and techniques.
In particular we are involved in
the following initiatives:
-
Ensuring that our Chauffeurs
regularly maintain their
vehicles, with continual
endeavors to operate
vehicles at maximum
utilisation to achieve
optimum efficiency.
Incorporating areas such as
driving at the most
economical speeds,
acceleration and braking
techniques, gear changing
and idling. As vehicle
technology continues to
advance, we ensure our
chauffeurs have the
expertise to operate the
vehicle to it’s full
environmental potential
-
Operating a company policy
of “Reduce-Reuse-Recycle”,
whereby we recycle office
consumables such as paper,
plastic and cans in
association with Greenstar
recycling.
-
Eliminating the carbon
footprint of our vehicle
fleet. In partnership with
The CarbonNeutral Company we
are currently looking at
investing in projects around
the world to eliminate the
effect of the vehicles that
we use on the environment in
both the short-term and
long-term.
-
Providing One water in all
of our vehicles as the
chosen complimentary water.
One donates all its profits
to the building of
roundabout powered PlayPumps™
in African villages that
have no easy access to clean
drinking water. In September
2006 PlayPumps™
International was pledged
support at the Clinton
Global Initiative by the US
government, The Case
Foundation and The MCJ
Foundation. In February 2008
a pump funded entirely from
the supply of complimentary
One water by Optimum
Chauffeur Drive and Carey
England was installed at The
Sensake Primary School, near
Mafeking and they now have a
sustainable source of clean
water for their school
children, enabling them to
spend more time in school
receiving a valuable
education.
