We are proud to be sponsoring Kops 4 Kidz. This is a Blue Collar fight night is being organised by members of An Gardai to raise funds for St. John’s Ward, Crumlin Hospital. St. John’s Ward is the National Tertiary Referral Centre for Paediatric Haematology/Oncology patients. All monies raised from sponsorship and donations will go to St John’s Ward, OLCHC.

The purpose of this event is to raise the awareness of how giving a little can help a lot. Every penny raised through donations and sponsorship will go directly to St John’s Ward. The committee organising Kops 4 Kidz is working in partnership with the Staff on St John’s Ward to ensure that money spent will bring joy and happiness to those who need it most, our “Children”.

The idea for this event was prompted by the fact that two members of An Garda currently have sick children on St John’s Ward, along with their friends and colleagues they decided they wanted to raise money for the ward in OLCHC. Accordingly a fund raising committee was established. This committee decided a white collar fight night would be the most appropriate vehicle to raise funds for the OLCHC. Due to Gardai being involved it is proposed to advertise it as a Blue Collar Fight Night. A panel of thirty fighters has been drawn up from around the country. Most of these fighters are Gardai but two well known GAA football celebrities will also fight each other on the night. This promises to be a memorable fight night which will be attended by over 1,600 people.

The venue for the event takes place at the spectacular Wright Venue, Swords on Friday the 10th February 2012.
